Workload, rest and injuries
A darts season is long. Play everything and you will be throwing tired by the spring.
Workload#
Your workload builds as you play, travel and train, and comes down with rest. It is in the hub’s top bar and on the calendar week by week. A tired player throws worse, and a player who runs on empty for too long burns out.
- Look at the busy weeks on the calendar before you enter everything in them.
- Long trips abroad add more than a short trip at home.
- Exhibitions and appearances pay, but they take a day and add to your workload too.
Time off#
Book a week off to rest properly. Sometimes the doctor will book one for you, and that one stays.
Injuries#
Players get injured, especially when they push too hard. When it happens, your physio tells you what it is and how long it should take. Some injuries leave you a choice: rest until you are right, or play on and take the risk. A physio on your team catches problems earlier.
