Calendar and events

The calendar is every event you can play this season, in date order. Weeks without an event are for training and rest.

Entering an event#

Open an event to see where and when it is, the entry fee, the travel cost and the prize money, so you know what it costs before you commit. Enter it, or withdraw, from there.

  • Some events are open to anyone; others need a Tour Card, a ranking place, a qualifier or an invitation. The event says who can enter.
  • Some events are closed to Tour Card holders: once you have a card, the lower tours are behind you.
  • Qualifiers are held in your home country as well as where you live, and appear on your calendar.
  • The views at the top switch between the events you can play, everything on the calendar, and more.

Costs and travel#

Entry fees and travel leave your bank before any prize money arrives. Travel abroad costs more than travel at home, and back-to-back events in the same city save you a second fare. Every event shows its full prize money table.

Formats#

Darts comes in many shapes, and the game plays them all:

  • Knockouts, one-day or over several days, in legs or in sets.
  • Group stages, played round by round, with a table for every group.
  • Leagues: league nights, weekly TV leagues with play-offs, and county fixtures.
  • Rolling-entry opens, qualifiers and preliminaries.
  • Team events such as the Nations Cup.

Events over several days are played day by day: each round has its match day, and between your matches you are back in the hub.

The majors#

The majors are the biggest events of the year, on TV, with a televised draw, a walk-on and the biggest crowds. Some have a press conference before them. The season builds to the World Championship at the Palace, played across New Year.

Your workload on the calendar#

The calendar also shows your workload week by week. Events and travel add to it, and a tired player throws worse, so keep an eye on the busy weeks. Workload, rest and injuries.

Tip

You do not have to enter everything. Early on, a few events you can win pay better than many you cannot.
