Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Darts Player Simulator (the game, on desktop and on mobile) and this website collect, and what happens to it. The short version: the game runs on your device, your saves stay on your device, the game sends only anonymous usage counts you can switch off, and this website uses Google analytics to count visits.
Who we are
Darts Player Simulator is published by Parkmydomain Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Parkmydomain Limited is the data controller for any personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at dev@dartsplayersim.com.
The game
What the game stores on your device
The game keeps your careers, settings and designs (your player, shirts and darts) in files on your device. On Windows they are in your user folder; on Android and iPhone they are in the app's private storage. Nothing in a save is sent to us. If you delete the game, the saves it keeps in its own storage are removed with it.
What the game sends
The game does not create an account, does not ask for your name, email address or location, and does not send your saves or device identifiers to us. It does not contain advertising and does not use advertising software development kits. The game can run with no network connection.
Anonymous usage statistics
From version 0.50.7 the game sends a few anonymous usage counts so we can see how the game is played and where to improve it: minutes played, seasons completed, and how many matches and legs are played or simulated. These counts are sent in small batches through Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics service, together with the game version, the operating system and its version, and your language setting. They contain no name, career or player details, no account, no advertising or device identifier, and are not used to track you or shared with anyone else. To count sessions, Aptabase combines your IP address and the app's version details with a value that changes every day and keeps only the scrambled result, so a session cannot be linked to you or to another day. You can turn them off at any time in the game under Settings, Share anonymous usage stats; with it off, nothing is sent. Aptabase's own privacy policy is at aptabase.com/legal/privacy.
Mods
You can install mods from a zip file you choose. The game reads only the file you pick. Mods are made by other people and may include content of their own; the game does not report what you install.
Permissions on Android and iPhone
The Android and iPhone apps ask only for what they need to run and to open a mod file you choose through the system file picker. They do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location or photos.
App stores
If you get the game from Google Play, the App Store, Steam or another store, that store processes your purchase and may collect installation, crash and usage statistics under its own privacy policy. We see only the aggregated figures the store shows to publishers, never your identity. See the privacy policies of Apple (apple.com/legal/privacy), Google (policies.google.com/privacy) and Valve (store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement).
This website
This website is a set of static pages and does not ask you to log in. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (the IP address, the page requested, the time and the browser type) for security and to keep the site running; those logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.
Analytics
The website uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, provided by Google, to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve the site. They load only if you press Accept on the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Once accepted, they may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and send Google information such as the pages you view, how you arrived, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We use this information only in aggregate, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not combine it with anything else to identify you. Google processes it under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy); you can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The game itself does not use Google Analytics.
The site links to Discord, X, TikTok, Steam and Google Play. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave this site.
When you contact us
If you email us or message us on Discord or social media, we receive what you send: your email address or user name and the content of your message. We use it only to reply and to deal with what you asked about, and we keep it for as long as that takes, plus a reasonable period in case you write again. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, children included. If you think a child has sent us personal data by contacting us, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. Because we hold almost none, the usual answer is that there is nothing to show. To exercise any of these rights, email dev@dartsplayersim.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the game or the site collects more than this policy describes (for example optional crash reports), we will update this page first, change the date at the top, and say so in the game's release notes.
