Sponsors, bookings and agents
Prize money is only part of a living. Sponsors, appearances and the right agent fill in the rest.
Sponsors#
The Sponsors section shows your deals and the offers on the table.
- A deal pays a retainer and bonuses for results, and it asks things of you in return: targets to hit. A shirt sponsor puts its name on your shirt.
- You can negotiate an offer before you sign. Push too hard and it may be withdrawn.
- Better results and more followers bring better offers. So does what the press says about you.
- A deal runs for a term. Hit its targets and the next offer is easier to come by.
Bookings#
Bookings are exhibitions and appearances: paid nights away from the tour. They bring in money and followers. They also take up a day and add to your workload, so pick them around your events.
Agents#
An agent finds you bookings and helps with deals, for a share of what you earn. You can look for one to hire from Bookings. A good agent pays for themselves; the wrong one does not.
